Asian Carp Crisis Caused By Animal Import Law
In 1900, a law governing animal imports was passed and Asian carp was allowed into the United States. To date, this law remains unchanged. Now with two species of Asian carp invading the Great Lakes, conservation groups are asking federal officials to update import screening laws before a new invader begins corrupting our ecosystem.
