Destin Eradicating Invasive Species
The city of Destin has recently launched an effort to remove Chinese tallowtree from the city's parks and right of ways. Tallowtree is taking over Destin's wetlands and some fear they will wipe out existing native species. The public services department is also working with the Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance on a grant application to help eradicate Chinese tallowtree, cogongrass and other invasive species in the state of Florida.
