Whale Poop Cleans the Environment

New research has found that sperm whale waste, a diarrhea-like substance, removes carbon from the atmosphere, helping to offset greenhouse gases that have been tied to global warming. In the Southern Ocean, sperm whales release 220,462 tons of carbon when they exhale carbon dioxide at the water's surface. However, their waste releases 440,925 tons of carbon.
