$600,000 in Grants to be Awarded

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will be awarding almost $600,000 to nine projects addressing the Quagga-Zebra Mussel Action Plan for Western U.S. Waters. The Eastern United States has already seen the extremely detrimental ecological and economic impacts caused by these aqautic invaders. The hope is that by implementing a cooperative effort addressing the problem early, the devastation caused by these invasive mussels in the East, can be avoided in the West.
