USDA Systematic Entomology Lab contributes images from the US National Scale Insect Collection
We recently received close to 1,000 images taken from the United States National Collection of Scale Insects Photographs Archive. These images provide an excellent look at the various life stages and features of scale insects.

Handsome Fungus Beetles invade the Bugwood Network
Floyd Shockley, a systematic & forensic entomologist at the University of Georgia has contributed over 1,300 images of beetles in the family Endomychidae (superfamily Cucujoidea). These are a part of his PhD project: Systematics of the Endomychidae (Coleoptera: Cucujoidea) Inferred from Morphological and Molecular Data: Investigation of the Natural History and Evolution of a Mycophagous Beetle Family.

Whitney Cranshaw shatters the 1000 image mark!
We have received a new set of images from Whitney Cranshaw. This set of images pushes him over the 1000 image mark. As of October 11, 2006, he has the most images of insects available to the public in our system and he is ranked 4th for total number of images! Redbay Ambrosia Beetle and Melaleuca
