Habitat Restoration Always Begins the Same Way

I have had the privilege of participating in meetings of the Georgia Plant Conservation Alliance over the last couple of years. It is inspiring and interesting to hear reports on what different groups around Georgia are doing to restore and protect rare plant habitat. The sad part is that every project begins the same way...the removal of invasive species. The invasive species invading these remote natural areas came out of our backyards. Birds and other wildlife eat fruit from the plants we chose for our landscaping and later deposit those seeds, often many miles away.
