The Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), an international treaty among 193 countries that addresses the global loss of invasive species, made a non-binding agreement to save the world's biodiversity. One of the main goals of CBD is to minimize the spread of invasive species, which is a major contributing factor to the world's large extinction of species. Studies have also proven that the spread of invasive species contributes to climate change.
